Tonja makes our balms, creams, and some of the tinctures and sprays. She offers homeopathic consultations and sees clients at her practice room in Paekākāriki or online.

I returned to New Zealand in 1999 after 12 years living in Europe, mainly in Brighton (UK) and Bremen (Germany). I first became interested in natural healing products while living in Germany where my GP preferred to prescribe natural and homeopathic products rather than pharmaceuticals. After settling back into life in New Zealand and the birth of my daughter, I decided to broaden my knowledge of natural products with a Diploma in Herbal Studies at Cottage Herbs in Akatarawa. This taught me the skills and knowledge to make creams, balms, tinctures and much more. I developed my Nikau Products range of natural products, inspired by my daughter, Maja Nikau. I still make some of the products like the Calendula Cream which I developed for Maja who had eczema from a very young age. In more recent years I’ve been developing my skills and knowledge in homeopathy and have completed the Advanced Practitioner of Homeopathy at RMDY Academy of Homeopathy in Brisbane.

I was interested in flower remedies as far back as 1988 where I carried a book on Bach flower remedies with me while travelling overseas. I became interested in homeopathy when a friend, who was studying to be a homeopath, introduced me to my first few remedies. During the birth of my daughter in 1996, my midwife used homeopathic remedies for my birth. When my youngest sister had a baby in a birth centre two years after me, I gathered as much information as I could from the midwives and homeopaths I knew and assisted her with homeopathic remedies and helped her avoid a transfer to the hospital when her baby got stuck. This led to an on-going interest in pregnancy and childbirth remedies. In 2000 I completed a 6-month long intuitive healing course which underpins a lot of my work, and then I spent many years building up my knowledge and stock of homeopathic remedies and prescribing for acute situations. After all my children left home, I set up a tachyon healing chamber in Raumati South and found myself prescribing more and more homeopathic and flower remedies. Eventually I started selling Tonja’s Nikau Products range of balms and tinctures to my clients and then Saskia began offering online homeopathic consultations as well. I learnt a lot about making up homeopathic remedies for the next few years. In 2025 I did some online training courses in New Zealand to deepen my understanding of Bach flower remedies, and then I heard that someone was finally training people in acute prescribing and joined the founding cohort of the online course at the Academy of Integrative Homeopathy (London). In 2026 I formally qualified as a Practitioner of Integrative Homeopathy: Acute Prescribing and learnt a few more tools, like tissue salts and Narayani combination remedies, to work with. I also sold the tachyon chamber, and Taramis Healing and Nikau Products merged into Nikau Remedies.

Tordis processes the orders, fields most of the enquiries, and offers acute and flower remedy consultations. She is based in Raumati South.
